The median annual pay rate for surgery techs is $31,210 and the high and low range of the scale is $21,920 at the low end and $43,470 at the high end. 

Advancement in this career can take many forms.  Some experienced surgery techs specialize, like working on transplant teams exclusively.  Others become managers in hospital supply departments, while others work for insurance companies or medical supply companies.  Obtaining further education can qualify a surgical tech for other medical jobs like nursing or medical assistant.
