According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities for a database manager are expected to grow much faster than the average occupation.  This is largely because technology is expected to continue to advance and, as such, the need for a qualified database manager to keep information secure will continue to grow.  The Bureau reports that the median annual salary for a database manager in 2004 was $60,650.
