In order to become a financial analyst, one must earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or statistics. Coursework for any of these four degrees will provide the individual with the background knowledge in economics, statistics, and business required in order to successfully perform the duties of a financial analyst. A master’s degree in business administration is preferred by most employers. Coursework that will help prepare a person for a career as a financial analyst include courses in taxes, investment, economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, business, estate planning, and risk management.
