Veterinary Technician Schools

A veterinary technician may earn a two year associate degree or a four year bachelor’s degree from an accredited community college.  As of 2004, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) reported that there were 116 veterinary technology programs in the United States available in 43 of the 50 states.  After graduating from an accredited school, the veterinary technician can then take a credentialing examination, which is required in all states in order to practice in the field.
