A car mechanic uses a number of different tools in order to make repairs on vehicles.  In addition to making repairs, a car mechanic also performs routine inspections in order to make sure the vehicle is in proper working order.  If a car mechanic discovers problems with the vehicle, he or she then makes the necessary repairs. 

In order to perform regular maintenance and repairs, a car mechanic must be able to use a wide variety of tools.  Power tools, machine tools, and wedding tools are all commonly used by car mechanics.  They must also use computers in order to troubleshoot problems with the vehicle and to perform diagnostics.
