People trained as finish carpenters can expect to enjoy plenty of job opportunities over the next several years as people increasingly work toward making their homes look attractive. While homeowners may feel comfortable with doing the initial stages of carpentry, they need the assistance of a finish carpenter to give it a well-polished and complete look.
The median hourly wage of finish carpenters was $13.89 in May of 2006. Those earning the lowest 10% in the field earned less than $9.08. Those earning the highest 10% earned over $24.21 while the middle 50% earned a range of $10.84 to $18.47.
