Most airlines look for people with a bachelor’s degree to fill their flight attendant positions. There are several different types of bachelor’s degrees that are desirable for this position, including degrees in sociology, psychology, nursing, hospitality, education, and other people-oriented disciplines.
In addition to obtaining a degree, flight attendants must become certified through the Federal Aviation Administration. In order to obtain this certification, those wishing to become flight attendants must complete training in security procedures, fire fighting, evacuation, and medical emergency.
