Flight attendants are primarily responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the flight passengers. In addition to ensuring the safety of the passengers, however, flight attendants are also responsible for making passengers comfortable.
Flight attendants must perform some of their duties before the flight ever takes off. At least one hour before the flight departure time, they are briefed by the commanding pilot regarding weather conditions, flight length, and any other special issues concerning the flight. Flight attendants also make certain the plane is properly equipped with first aid kits and supplies such as beverages, food, and other amenities.
As passengers board the plane, flight attendants check their tickets. They also help them store their carry-on items and provide them with any other special instructions they may need, such as how to fasten their seat belts and how to use emergency equipment.
