Flight attendant positions are expected to grow about as rapidly as the average occupation. In addition, competition is relatively stiff because many people are interested in a career that allows them to travel for free. Flight attendants also earn a very handsome salary after they become experienced in the field. In fact, the median annual salary for flight attendants in May of 2006 was $53,780. According to the Association of Flight Attendants, however, the median annual earnings for beginning attendants was $15,849 during that same year.
