Forensic accountants must complete a four year degree in either business or in accounting.  In addition, many forensic accountants take coursework in areas such as criminal justice or law.  Yet others start their careers by working in law enforcement and then take additional coursework in accounting in order to launch a career as a forensic accountant.  In many cases, employers prefer hiring someone with a master’s degree in the subject.
