Forensic accountants are expected to enjoy plenty of job opportunities over the next several years as the industry grows faster than the average occupation. This is largely due to the increased number of white collar crimes and criminal investigations being launched in response to stricter laws related to finances.
Forensic accountants with up to one year of experience in the field earned anywhere from $31,500 to $48,250 in 2007, while those with one to three years of experience earned $36,000 to $60,000. Those working in management positions earned between $51,250 to $101,500 per year. In addition, they typically receive a 401(k) retirement plan, medical insurance, life insurance, and paid vacation time. Those in senior level positions often receive additional benefits, such as an expense account and a company car.
