Over the next several years, employment opportunities for master technicians are expected to grow faster than the average occupation.  Therefore, those that are properly trained, have very good job prospects while those without formal training can expect to face a great deal of competition within the field. 

 

The median hourly wage for those employed as master technicians was $16.24 in May 2006.  Those working for the local government earned the most, with a median hourly wage o $19.07 in 2006.  Those working for automotive accessories and parts stores, on the other hand, earned the lowest wage with a median hourly wage of $14.38.
