A travel agent takes on many duties for his or her client. First, the travel agent may be called upon to help someone plan the perfect vacation. In some cases, the client may not even know where he or she wishes to go, so it is up to the travel agent to present various options and help the client find the perfect vacation getaway. In order to accomplish this, the travel agent must get to know the client and his or her interests and likes.
After determining the ideal vacation destination, the travel agent also helps the client plan activities for the vacation. Therefore, the travel agent must be very knowledgeable of the destination and what the destination has to offer. Once these decisions have been made, the travel agent makes reservations for lodging and makes all of the necessary travel arrangements for the client.
