CAREERS
For a fast growing, specialized medical career you can begin in two years, training to become a cardiovascular technologist is an excellent choice.
A career as a cardiovascular technologist is one of the specialty job opportunities in the medical field.  Its specialized nature doesn't support much career advancement, but the salary and prestige are excellent.
Training options to become a cardio tech can take several forms.  Some on the job training may take place, but most workers employed in this field complete a two or four year program.

Ask yourself this question:  "Do I like what I do for a living?"  If you answered "no", what are you doing about it?  Maybe you have a "good" job, but it's not very rewarding to you personally.  Maybe you have a job with good pay, but bad hours or worse - a job with good hours, but bad pay.  Perhaps you've just done your job for too many years, or are excited to work in some of the new careers that just weren't available when you finished school.

Child care providers work in many different atmospheres such as child care centers, nurseries, preschools, public schools, private homes and before and after school programs.  Their main goals include helping enhance each child's development and caring for children when parents are at work or tending to other obligations.

Child care providers held approximately 1.2 million job positions in the United States in 2002.  The ages they work with varies from infancy to early teens.  Most child care providers are self employed and work part time.  Others work full time in day care centers or local government educational programs.
Most child care facilities seek employees with certification or an associate's degree in early childhood development.

Becoming a CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant) is a fast path to a medical career that offers stability and flexibility.  CNAs are the front line in patient care for today's rapidly growing medical field.  If you're interested in the nursing field, but not sure which career path to take, becoming a CNA has a short training period and will give you the chance to "test drive" a nursing career.

Training to become a CNA can be the first step to a nursing career.  While the work is demanding and the pay is low, the learning experience offers potential to further one's career in the medical field with a minimum amount of education time.
Becoming a nurse's aid typically doesn't require any education or work experience, however obtaining CNA certification does.
