Multimedia design builds on the skills and abilities needed to be a graphic designer.  It combines graphic design with animation to create computer based movies and presentations.  As technology advances and equipment prices come down, we will see even more amazing multimedia fusion with more realistic and life-like results.

Obtaining employment in the design field typically requires a bachelor' degree in Fine Arts.  Having an understanding of color, proportion, spacing, font use and an eye for aesthetics is very important.  Multimedia design relies heavily on computer software in production, so an associate' degree, or career training in these programs is beneficial for candidates lacking a four year degree.

Multimedia design involves working with graphic art, websites and possibly audio and video.  While it has an average growth rate and may be fairly competitive to secure employment, the creative and financial rewards are well worth it.
